Life Cycle Cost LINKS

Well I didn't find too much on this. Everyone knows life cycle cost analysis will save everyone the future burden of the costs of operation and maintenance. You have a complex design, you could spend a little more here, a little less there. Should you? I've found it is usually left up to the engineer's gut feeling and our general desire to do what's best for whoever will use our product. With experience we develop a reasonable gut feeling. But isn't it a shame that we know life cycle cost analysis will give us a better answer, but we don't use it.

Frankly, I don't have the tools at my fingertips to use it. Easy tools would be best, but in fact I don't have any tools for it, except my textbooks. Yes I'm interested, but looks like life cycle costing will again go to the back of my priorities.
